JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Leads all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff as needed.
  • Provides management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow.
  • Manages and oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for a small project or a major portion of a larger project.
  • Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinates and manages the care, custody, and control of the project site.
  • Leads various meetings including daily standup and weekly trade meetings.
  • Attends, manages, and participates in appropriate progress and/or project OAC meetings.
  • Creates, manages, changes, and implements the project's schedule as needed, in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • May be responsible for tracking and monitoring project budget and costs using the project management system's reports and data from the project manager.
  • Communicates key project information to owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Follows the project filing and documentation organization system as dictated for the project. Updates drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
  • Approves and/or records unit cost information for weekly reports and completes daily reports, logs, and tracking reports.
  • Evaluates progress on self-perform work and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Manages material and equipment needs for the project.
  • Supports procurement and approval processes such as MOC and DLSC.
  • Assists in the selection of formwork, tools, and equipment necessary to complete self-perform operations.
  • Manages the timecard approval process to ensure accurate reporting of hours and proper cost codes.
  • Ensures quality compliance through specifications, quality standards, in-house QA/QC, and outside resources.
  • Supports project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with the owner, architect, and authorities.
  • Gains understanding of the project pursuit process and methodology.
  • Participates with field leadership and the project team to develop and implement project pre-plans, monitoring and adjusting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partners with field leadership for staffing the project.
  • Collaborates with project management on schedule and cost changes, and participates in negotiations with owners and architects.
  • Prepares and presents for project review meetings and participates in project buy-out meetings.
  • Understands and applies contractual terms with owners and subcontractors.
  • Responsible for recruiting top talent and promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion.

  • Manages fairly complex stand-alone projects from start to finish.
  • Assumes responsibility for management, scheduling, safety, and quality for their project or portion of it.
  • Identifies, understands, and manages project risks.
  • Uses knowledge and experience to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Manages deliverables from internal resources such as logistics.
  • Participates in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management, scheduling software, and construction technology.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, trades, and labor productivity.
  • Ability to manage budgets, build relationships, and understand document changes.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of construction experience and 3 years of field supervision experience.
  • Experience with Lean principles is a plus.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, travel, and work in extreme conditions.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
