JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Lead all aspects of the company's safety culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment, investigating safety incidents, and retraining staff as needed.
- Manage subcontractors and oversee overall job and workflow organization.
- Manage and oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for small projects or major portions of larger projects.
- Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
- Coordinate and manage the care, custody, and control of the project site.
- Lead various meetings, including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
- Attend and participate in project OAC meetings and other progress meetings.
- Create, manage, and adjust the project's schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Track and monitor project budget and costs using project management systems.
- Communicate key project information to owners, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, and other departments.
- Maintain project documentation and update drawings, logs, and inspection notebooks.
- Approve and record unit cost information; complete daily reports and logs.
- Evaluate progress on self-perform work and make adjustments as needed.
- Manage material and equipment needs.
- Support procurement and approval processes for materials and logistics.
- Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment for self-perform operations.
- Manage timecard approval to ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensure quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC, and external resources.
- Support project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Understand the project pursuit process and methodology.
- Participate in project planning, staffing, and change management processes.
- Participate in negotiations and project review meetings.
- Understand and apply contractual terms with owners and subcontractors.
- Identify and recruit top talent.
- Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring policy adherence.
Additional Responsibilities - Superintendent 2
- Manage complex stand-alone projects from start to finish.
- Handle management, scheduling, safety, and quality for their projects.
- Identify and manage project risks.
- Proactively address problems and recommend solutions.
- Manage deliverables from internal resources.
- Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Conduct effective presentations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
- Understanding of construction management fundamentals.
- Build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Apply Lean principles and knowledge of trades and scopes of work.
- Manage budgets and maximize profitability.
- Knowledge of layout, crane flagging, and rigging.
- Understand document changes and project impacts.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's preferred.
- 5+ years construction experience; 3+ years supervision.
- Experience with Lean principles preferred.
Working Environment
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Travel and/or relocation may be required.
- Exposure to extreme conditions possible.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
- Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, etc.
