Job summary

Owen Thomas Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead field electrical operations on large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects across multiple U.S. locations.

You will manage electrical subcontractors and field crews, oversee MV/LV distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, busway and related infrastructure, coordinate with mechanical, controls/BMS and commissioning teams, ensure safety, schedule and quality in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of electrical construction supervision in data centers.
• Experience managing MV/LV distribution, switchgear and UPS systems.
• Ability to lead subcontractors and field crews safely and efficiently.
• Strong reading of drawings and coordination with design teams.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC and OSHA safety standards.

Electrical Superintendent – Data Center Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead field electrical operations on large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong electrical construction background with experience managing complex, high-value projects involving medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, busway, EPMS, controls and critical power infrastructure.

This position will take ownership of electrical field execution, coordinating subcontractors and project teams while ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule and to the quality standards required within a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day electrical field operations on large-scale data center projects.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, foremen, field crews and vendors.
• Oversee installation of MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs, RPPs and busway.
• Coordinate electrical activities with mechanical, controls/BMS, CSA and commissioning teams.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, submittals and installation requirements.
• Manage short‑term schedules, manpower planning, sequencing and electrical milestones.
• Coordinate energization activities and critical equipment start‑up.Support QA/QC, testing, commissioning and turnover from installation through final client acceptance.
• Manage RFIs, field coordination issues and constructability challenges.
• Participate in coordination meetings with the General Contractor, Owner, design teams and trade partners.
• Maintain strict compliance with site safety procedures, including LOTO and energized electrical work requirements.
• Drive schedule performance while maintaining the quality and reliability expected on mission‑critical projects.

Desired Experience

• 5+ years of electrical construction supervision experience, ideally within data centers, semiconductor, healthcare, advanced manufacturing or other mission‑critical environments.
• Previous experience as an Electrical Superintendent, General Superintendent, Electrical General Foreman or similar field leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of mission‑critical electrical infrastructure and power distribution systems.
• Experience overseeing electrical scopes from rough‑in and equipment installation through energization, commissioning and turnover.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one‑lines, specifications and coordination drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, manpower planning and subcontractor management.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA and electrical safety procedures.
• Experience working on hyperscale or large‑scale data center programs is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master Electrician background preferred.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
• NFPA 70E training.
• First Aid / CPR certification.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build or similar construction management platforms.
• Previous hyperscale, colocation or mission‑critical construction experience.
