Job summary

GM Defense is seeking a Subsystem Architect to identify subsystem building blocks for new defense products and lead structured trade studies. You will support concept demonstrator builds, collaborate across engineering teams, and ensure EMI/EMC and PSDS integration align with program objectives.

Qualifications

• B.S.E. or B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of professional engineering experience in vehicle, subsystem, or product engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in vehicle integration, subsystem architecture, or system-level engineering.
• Experience leading or supporting structured trade studies and decision matrices.

Responsibilities

• Identify subsystem architecture options and building-block alternatives.
• Lead trade studies comparing technical alternatives using packaging, performance, cost, mass and timing.
• Translate needs into subsystem requirements and criteria.
• Collaborate with design, systems, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and program teams.
