Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support substations, transmission, and distribution projects across Nebraska, South Dakota, and Iowa.

The role emphasizes budget control, scheduling, subcontract administration, and procurement to meet project goals. The successful candidate will coordinate with management and site supervision, maintain client relationships, and contribute to safety and process improvements.

Qualifications

• College degree in Construction Management or Engineering OR minimum 2 years experience in Construction Project Management position
• Knowledge of substations, transmission line work, or distribution work preferred.
• Knowledge of utility line and substation safety.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel/Word/Power Point/Microsoft Project).
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license
• Pre-employment drug test, background check and MVR checks required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Substations, Transmission, and/or Distribution projects to meet contractual adherence.
• Develop and manage the project budget, financial tracking, and owner billings.
• Develop and maintain the master project schedule.
• Coordinate construction efforts with Management and site supervision.
• Subcontract administration to ensure subcontractors meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Manage material procurement to support the project schedule and budget.
• Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
• Change Management
• Quality and productivity of crews and ensure efficient use of materials and equipment.
• Interface with clients, AE representatives, and others on the project site.
• Maintain client relationships to foster long term client satisfaction with IESCI.
• Provide feedback to estimating.

Education

College degree in Construction Management or Engineering OR minimum 2 years experience in Construction Project Management position
