Job summary

GVI Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, seeks a Shipboard Installer to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. You will perform cable installation and related tasks aboard U.S. Navy ships.

The role requires ability to work in an industrial shipyard, lift up to 50 lbs, and obtain/maintain a Secret clearance; prior military experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 0–4 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy or NAVSEA combat systems is a plus.
• Prior AIT or military experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in an industrial shipyard environment.
• Ability to carry 50 lbs up and down ladder wells.
• Proficiency with common ship repair tools of the trade is required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform cable installation, removal, and cableway finalization onboard U.S. Navy Ships
• Perform cable fabrication, termination, and connector building in accordance with drawings and quality specifications
• Follow direction, interpret installation drawings, and work as part of a team

Position Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent with 0-4 years of relevant experience sufficient to perform maintenance tasks
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy or NAVSEA combat systems a plus
• Prior AIT or military experience a plus
• Ability to work in industrial shipyard environment required
• Ability to carry 50lbs up and down ladder wells required
• Proficiency with common ship repair tools of the trade required
• Periods of extensive travel may be required
• Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain secret
• Pay Range: $20 - $24/ hour
