Summary/Objective:

As an Electrical Services Manager, you will oversee all aspects of electrical maintenance, installation, and repair projects to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency. This role involves leading a team of skilled electricians and technicians, managing project timelines and budgets, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and implementing best practices for electrical systems maintenance and upgrades. You will be responsible for ensuring that all work adheres to relevant codes and regulations while striving for optimal performance and reliability of electrical services.

Essential Functions:
  • Always seek to motivate divisional and company employees to gain maximum effort in order to achieve individual goals
  • Create and maintain a safe, positive, energetic, forward-thinking atmosphere where people can do their best, grow and be satisfied.
  • Participate with Safety & Quality to drive an error-free workplace.
  • Develop, facilitate and implement appropriate training for personnel.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes and standards.
  • Must be capable of working in close proximity of energized equipment and facilities.
  • Must interpret construction drawings (i.e. elevations, plan views, section views, details, etc) and communicate with customers and subordinates.
  • Ability to accurately appraise technical situations and recommend resolutions to problems.
  • Ability to administer coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Ability to develop and interpret a material list, bid packages, scope documents, schedules, and budgets required in work performance.
  • Proficient knowledge in all aspects of Distribution systems.
  • Perform employee evaluations.

  • Ability to interface with contractors, designers, vendors, and other parties connected with the project.
  • Create a vision and business plan for the future direction of the division.
  • Effective management to ensure profitability and expected cash flow on all projects and master service agreements.
  • Develop annual budgets including capital expenditures consistent with business plan.
  • Present business plan and budget to COO and VP for approval.
  • Maintain a master schedule of current proposals, estimates, and work.
  • Review projects regularly to address problems, monitor progress, ensure compliance of specifications, and quality of work performed.
  • Monitor scorecards for company, division, lines of business, and personnel.
  • Participate, monitor, and verify all divisional personnel are conducting meeting pulse for all personnel and project delivery meetings.
  • Provide recommendations for salary and wage increases and bonuses.
  • Work with estimators, project managers, owners, engineers and subcontractors to resolve project problems; problems outside your responsibility or that require additional staff support.
  • Monitor key safety indicators and act on suggestions of the Safety and Quality Department.
  • Attend all focus job meetings for the division.
  • Monitor the quality of work being performed. Divisional vice presidents are responsible for ensuring that work performed by the division meets or exceeds contract specifications and IB Abel standards of quality.
  • Monitor project documentation and ensure that appropriate correspondence and records are being maintained.
  • Review financial performance of division with Leadership monthly.

  • Secondary education from an accredited college / university
  • Relevant certifications for the industry- CUSP, PMP, PE
  • REQUIRED: Minimum of 10 years' oil & gas upstream/midstream and industrial experience of progressive responsibility in electrical construction including demonstrated ability to lead and manage a business unit with work acquisition and execution responsibility

The company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside in all weather conditions. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold weather, extreme heat, sustained noisy environment and vibration.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to walk up to 5 miles and physically perform tasks such as climbing stairs, sitting, standing, walking, carrying, pushing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. It also involves pulling, kneeling, bending, twisting, and repetitive wrist and hand movements for extended periods. The Electrical Services Manager must possess physical agility, manual dexterity, and mental acuity to handle various tasks throughout the shift.

Position type and expected hours of work:

Must be flexible. The typical schedule is M-Sat. Some weekends/holidays are required.
