As one of the nation's largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, Facility Solutions Group is expanding its staff and seeking an Electrical Service Technician for the FSG - San Jose California team.
Job Description
As an Electrical Service Technician, you will perform terminal and electrical service, equipment and system repair, maintenance, testing, and installation tasks at various facilities. You will troubleshoot and repair or replace wiring circuits for lighting and lighting/system controls, computerized motor controls, programmable controllers, and other related electrical equipment. You will also identify and acquire parts for replacement, maintenance, and other work as per established procurement procedures. The ideal candidate will be prompt, dependable, and uphold the standards of quality and service set by Facility Solutions Group.
An Electrical Service Technician will:
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
- Prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before the completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications.
- Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste, provide access for future maintenance, and ensure safety and reliability, in accordance with safety codes and electrical standards.
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes to ensure system safety and compatibility.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, performing physically demanding tasks while demonstrating knowledge of tools and equipment.
- Understand and conform to government and local regulations, ordinances, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in lighting or electrical maintenance.
- California Electrician License preferred.
- Ability to pass drug and background screening.
- Criteria to drive a company vehicle.
- Willingness to work nights.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
