Job summary

Epstein Global is seeking an Electrical Senior Design Engineer to join our growing MEP engineering team in Raleigh, NC. The role targets 3–5 years of consulting engineering experience and focuses on designing power, lighting, and fire alarm systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.

The candidate will work within an integrated AE/AEC firm, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver technically sound, code-compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of successful project experience within an A/E, A/E/C, or consulting engineering firm.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and general building codes.
• Experience coordinating design between disciplines and working with teams, clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Proficiency with Revit and with LightStanza; strong Microsoft Office skills.

Overview

The Electrical Senior Design Engineer performs a variety of engineering tasks and works with others on the design team to provide innovative and technically sound solutions in accordance to project requirements and applicable codes.This individual designs power, lighting, and fire alarm systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities within an integrated AE/AEC firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain a full understanding of project objectives, scope, deliverables, and other factors that impact design activities
• Produce the design and detailing of electrical engineering systems
• Develop construction/equipment installation documents and project deliverables
• Perform analysis and design calculations
• Coordinate with the project team and all design disciplines throughout the course of the project
• Perform field surveys and prepare associated reports
• Assist in preparing estimates of probable costs for construction and equipment installation at various stages of design
• Participate in the preparation of project specifications
• Review shop drawings for compliance with contract requirements and documents

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of successful project experience within an A/E, A/E/C, or consulting engineering firm
• Understanding of other building systems disciplines and coordination of the various elements of design between disciplines
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and general building codes
• Experience working with teams, clients, contractors, and vendors
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency with Revit and working knowledge of discipline-specific software such as LightStanza

Compensation

Individual compensation is determined by several factors, including education, experience, training, qualifications, skill sets, licensure/certifications, and location. Employees are also eligible for discretionary annual bonuses based on both company and individual performance.

The salary range for this position is $80,000–$95,000 annually.
