Job summary

Amentum is seeking a SCADA Operator (Electrical) to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia. You will monitor the electrical transmission, distribution and power generation systems, respond to alarms, and coordinate switching and dispatching of field electricians to trouble areas.

Five years of journey-level transmission/distribution electrician experience is required, along with knowledge of SCADA systems, and the ability to work after hours during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must have five years verifiable experience as a journey level transmission and/or distribution electrician.
• Working knowledge of field equipment such as transformers, alarm switches, breakers, vacuum breakers, oil circuit breakers.
• Ability to diagnose and respond to emergencies by remote or field switching.
• Proficient with computers and office software.
• Able to produce written procedures and switching orders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor electrical transmission, distribution, and power generation systems and the SCADA system for proper operation.
• Receive trouble calls and initiate work orders in PWMA and MAXIMO.
• Call in necessary craftspersons for repairs and coordinate after-hours responses.
• Maintain records and reports of operations.
• Oversee emergency actions and ensure response plans are followed.
• Coordinate switching and dispatch to on-base and external utilities.
• Remotely start/stop emergency generators to manage demand.
• Monitor real-time pricing and retrieve daily kWh prices.
