Job summary

Vertiv seeks an Electrical Safety Program Manager to develop site-based safety plans for customers and support safety and environmental initiatives across multiple sites. This external-facing role drives safety program strategy and incident prevention across manufacturing, facilities, corporate offices and client environments.

You will build prevention-focused safety cultures, sustain ISO certifications, and partner with leadership on capital projects, regulatory initiatives and training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Occupational Health and Safety or Safety Science preferred.
  • 5–10 years of electrical work (low/medium voltage) and/or construction experience.
  • Strong organizational and research skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Broad knowledge of EH&S, NFPA 70E, Electrical and DOT regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Define safety program elements and enterprise metrics for external customers.
  • Develop electrical safety strategy across multi-country units.
  • Serve as senior advisor to external business and site leadership on safety initiatives.
  • Liaise with client leadership, legal, security and facilities to align safety with risk.
  • Provide on-site safety consultations for issues.
  • Facilitate Safety Committees.
  • Review and assist development of plans, procedures and strategies.
  • Interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B.
  • Conduct safety audits and hazard assessments.

Job description

Electrical Safety Program Manager:

This role is external facing, involving the development of site-based Electrical Safety Plans for customers. Responsible for developing site based electrical safety programs, in addition to support, consultation, and implementation for external customers. Provide support and direction for aspects of safety and environmental affairs. Responsible for consultation on corporate safety initiatives to minimize the number and reduce the severity of accidents and injuries while maintaining the efficiency of the jobsite and the well-being of employees. Drive global, regional, and multi-site safety program strategies across manufacturing, facilities, corporate offices, and client environments. Build prevention-focused safety cultures, sustain ISO certifications, reduce enterprise risk, and align EHS governance with business growth, sustainability, and customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define Safety Program elements and enterprise metrics for external customers.
  • Develop electrical safety strategy and execution across multi-country business units, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives, regulatory requirements, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Serve as senior advisor to external business and site leadership, partnering on capital projects, regulatory compliance initiatives, water recycling, pressure testing processes, and specialized risk-based training.
  • Act as primary liaison with client leadership, legal, security, and facilities teams, aligning safety, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, and regulatory compliance with business and brand risk expectation.
  • Provide customer site consultation for safety issues and or problems.
  • Facilitation and involvement in Safety Committees.
  • Review and assist with development of necessary plans, procedures and strategies implementation and ensures their consistency and adequacy.
  • Interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Have strong working knowledge of Electrical Safety and NFPA 70, NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B.
  • Conducts safety audits and hazard assessments when appropriate in conjunction with applicable safety programs and/or regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree desired, preferably in Electrical, Occupational Health and Safety or Safety Science.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Electrical work (low and medium voltage) and/or Construction.
  • Strong organizational and research skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent computer skills, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Broad knowledge of environmental, health, safety, NFPA 70E, Electrical and DOT regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with necessary levels of management in integrating safe and healthy behaviors in day-day operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting union labor environments.
  • Experience working in data center or mission-critical construction environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or industrial construction projects.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
  • STS-C (Safety Trained Supervisor - Construction) or CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Additional professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or related credentials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical & Environmental Demands
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on active construction sites.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to safely navigate construction environments including uneven surfaces and elevated work areas.
