Qualifications

  • Five or more years of hands‑on electrical maintenance, electrical reliability, or electrical mechanic experience in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving experience involving electrical equipment, instrumentation systems, and process control equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment such as motors, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, batteries, and protective devices.
  • Ability to work effectively across Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and Engineering organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical reliability support to Operations, Maintenance, Technical, Design Engineering, Capital Projects, and Turnaround organizations.
  • Respond to critical electrical equipment issues requiring advanced reliability and technical support.
  • Lead or support equipment failure investigations, root cause analyses.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions that reduce reliability threats and improve equipment performance.
  • Own and continuously improve electrical asset strategies, including preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, critical spare strategies, and inspection programs.
  • Analyze and trend condition monitoring data, including motor testing, thermography, transformer oil analysis, battery testing, partial discharge data, equipment histories, and vendor reports.
  • Support Reliability Risk Resolution processes, work history reviews, reliability scorecards, and action item management.
  • Provide Design for Reliability input for capital projects, reliability studies, and long-term equipment lifecycle planning.
  • Support IMPACT and turnaround planning activities by developing and validating reliability scope, reviewing work packages, supporting execution, and capturing lessons learned.
  • Partner directly with Operations, Maintenance personnel, planners, technical specialists, and vendors to identify and resolve equipment reliability issues.
  • Support development of electrical reliability capability through mentoring, technical knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote Chevron Way behaviors and Operational Excellence principles in all activities.
  • Position is located at the Richmond Refinery and follows a 4/10 work schedule.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Electrical Reliability Analyst located in Richmond, CA through October 26th, 2026 at 11:59 PM (PT).


The Electrical Reliability Analyst provides electrical reliability leadership for assigned Richmond Refinery operating areas and refinery-wide reliability initiatives. This role focuses on improving electrical equipment performance, identifying and mitigating reliability threats, strengthening asset strategies, and driving sustainable improvements that enhance equipment reliability, availability, and operational performance.

The position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Technical, Engineering, Capital Projects, and Turnaround teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient refinery operations while reinforcing Chevron's Operational Excellence expectations.

  • Provide electrical reliability support to Operations, Maintenance, Technical, Design Engineering, Capital Projects, and Turnaround organizations.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in maintenance, reliability, operations, engineering, or asset integrity within a refinery, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with refinery electrical generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
  • Experience leading or supporting root cause analyses, reliability programs, predictive maintenance technologies, and condition monitoring initiatives.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,300 – $206,400.
