Job summary

MORSE Corp in Cambridge, MA seeks an Electrical R&D Technician to support the development of cutting-edge unmanned aerial vehicles and integrated systems. The onsite role focuses on electro-mechanical assembly, electronics, and wire harnesses in our Cambridge lab.

You will build, test, modify, and troubleshoot complex subsystems, following precise fabrication processes and collaborating with engineers to ensure robust prototypes and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing R&D environment.
• Ability to follow detailed fabrication processes for complex prototypes with high quality and accuracy.
• Ability to follow technical diagrams and schematics to fabricate and route wire harnesses, routing and termination (crimping, soldering).
• Experienced in stripping, crimping, termination and labeling of wires and cables.
• Experience with electrical debug and fault isolation using basic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, isolation testers).
• Experience in fabrication of mechanical and electrical systems using common techniques and tools.
• Ability to identify issues, communicate them and work with engineers to develop solutions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of aerial vehicle components, sub-systems and systems
• Modify a COTS airframe to include custom avionics and payloads
• Implement ECOs on hardware and feed back assembly/fab issues to engineers.
• Perform electrical tests for functionality and continuity
• Inspect assemblies, PCBs, harnesses for defects and workmanship
• Rework PCBs with SMT components; replace through-hole and SMT parts
• Assemble, prototype, fabricate, test, and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems
• Conduct functional tests after assembly or repair to verify performance
