Job summary

The R&D Electrical Technician at Mainspring Energy is a hands-on role requiring a solid baseline in electrical fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting in an R&D setting. You will work on high voltage and large electrical equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation as you join a growing team.

Responsibilities include handling heavy cables, setting up work sites, repairing electronics, building enclosures, and running software for tests and configuration.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years electro-mechanical technician experience.
• Hands-on ability to visually detect electrical defects/non-conformances, determine solutions, and repair them in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using hand tools (drivers, saws, wire crimpers, etc.).
• Technical computer system knowledge (office suites, Terminal/Command line, managing files, etc.).
• Strong verbal & written communication skills in a team environment.
• Capable of software deployment and electrical box configuration.
• Installing heavy equipment with high voltage and working outdoors.
• Demonstrated ability to build electrical enclosures with limited documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct mechanical inspections of deployed units for debugging.

• Measure, cut, and pull thick, heavy-duty electrical cables and wiring.
• Set up job sites, stage equipment, and ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Repairing and qualifying electronics, inverters, load banks.
• Building enclosure for electrical power systems with electrical engineers, following work instructions.
• Run software, set up hardware, use browser-based apps to perform tests and troubleshoot with documentation.

• Conduct mechanical inspections of deployed units, documenting condition information for use by our team for debugging or troubleshooting

• Demonstrated ability to build electrical enclosures with limited documentation
• Capable of software deployment and electrical box configuration
