Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Quality Inspector to visually inspect in-process and finished electronic units, subassemblies and mechanical systems, using blueprints, micrometers and fixtures. You will accept, reject or rework nonconforming parts, monitor quality with SPC procedures and perform line clearances between lots.

A high school diploma and 2 years related experience are required, with an Apprentice or Associate's degree valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years related experience.
• Apprentice graduate/ Associate's Degree in relevant discipline with 1 year related experience.
• Certification may be required in some roles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect visually in-process and completed units, subsystems and assemblies using blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators and micrometers.
• Accept, reject or rework defective or malfunctioning units per instructions and checklists.
• Monitor and verify quality per statistical process or other control procedures.
• Perform line clearances after each lot to ensure removal of previous lot materials.
