About the position…

The Electrical Quality Assurance Specialist at Power Design is an essential part of our Engineering and Virtual Design and Construction team. As a specialist, you will review electrical system designs of large-scale projects for code compliance and constructability issues.

Position details/responsibilities…

1. Support and review drawings to ensure quality and constructability, with guidance from all team members.
2. Coordinate optimal design solutions for electrical systems by applying industry knowledge and quality standards.
3. Apply code knowledge to power and lighting systems, which may include telecom and fire alarm reviews.
4. Perform advanced reviews such as photometric studies, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations. Power Design can provide training in these areas.

Here’s what we’re looking for…

1. A team player who thrives in a dynamic environment with electrical design or field experience.
2. A quick learner interested in electrical system design fundamentals. Revit experience is a plus but not required.
3. Electrical Journeyman License required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is a plus but not necessary.
4. Professional Engineer License is preferred but not required.
5. Knowledge of electrical codes (such as IBC, IECC, NEC, ASHRAE) and electrical system calculations. Experience with visual photometric software or similar is preferred.
6. An excellent communicator capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and specifications.
