Job summary

WORLD WIDE PROFESSIONAL SOLUTIONS in Lafayette, Indiana seeks an experienced Electrical QA/QC Inspector to represent the owner’s interests in overseeing electrical construction, installation, testing, and commissioning at a semiconductor manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience may be accepted.
  • 7–10 years of electrical construction, quality, commissioning, or owner’s representative experience.
  • Experience on semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, battery, cleanroom, or other mission-critical manufacturing projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA) and local regulations.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, and panel schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee electrical quality activities during construction, installation, testing, and turnover.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, ITPs, method statements, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor work for compliance with drawings, specs, NEC/NFPA, and owner standards.
  • Perform field inspections of electrical installations (cable tray, grounding, switchgear, panels, cleanroom infra).
  • Support quality walkdowns, punch lists, deficiency tracking, and corrective action closure.
  • Review electrical testing documents (megger, continuity, torque, grounding, relay tests).
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, safety, and operations teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in factory/site acceptance tests and commissioning activities as required.
  • Track nonconformance reports, observations, RFIs, and inspection records.
  • Ensure turnover packages (as-builts, test reports, certifications) are complete.
  • Identify risks and elevate to owner leadership; contribute to continuous improvement.

WWPS is seeking an Electrical QA/QC Inspector to join our growing team in Lafayette, Indiana. The successful candidate must be self‑motivated, technically skilled, highly organized, communicate clearly and have a proven ability to work in a fast‑paced dynamic environment. Candidates’ work history must represent increased levels of responsibility on a progressive basis throughout their career.

The Electrical Quality Owner’s Representative is responsible for representing the owner’s interests in the quality oversight of electrical construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities for a semiconductor manufacturing facility. This role ensures that electrical systems are installed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, applicable codes, industry standards, and owner requirements.

The position requires strong experience with semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities, including High / medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution, cleanroom electrical systems, grounding, UPS systems, lighting, controls, instrumentation interfaces, and commissioning support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee electrical quality activities on behalf of the owner during construction, installation, testing, and turnover.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, inspection test plans, method statements, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor work to verify compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, NEC/NFPA requirements, local codes, and owner standards.
  • Perform field inspections of electrical installations, including cable tray, conduit, grounding, switchgear, transformers, panels, lighting, receptacles, cleanroom electrical infrastructure, and equipment connections.
  • Support quality walkdowns, punch list development, deficiency tracking, and corrective action closure.
  • Review and verify electrical testing documentation, including megger testing, continuity checks, torque reports, grounding tests, relay testing, and functional testing.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, safety, and operations teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, pre-functional checks, and commissioning activities as required.
  • Track nonconformance reports, quality observations, RFIs, field changes, and inspection records.
  • Ensure contractors maintain complete and accurate turnover packages, including as‑builts, test reports, certifications, inspection records, and commissioning documentation.
  • Identify risks to electrical quality, schedule, safety, or operability and elevate issues to owner leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement of project quality processes and lessons learned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience may be accepted.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of electrical construction, quality, commissioning, or owner’s representative experience.
  • Experience on semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, battery, cleanroom, or other mission‑critical manufacturing projects strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA, and applicable local regulations.
  • Experience reviewing electrical quality documentation, inspection reports, test records, and turnover packages.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, panel schedules, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation quality requirements for high‑reliability facilities.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and issue‑resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, inspectors, commissioning teams, and owner stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cleanroom protocols and tool install environments.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC systems, inspection test plans, and construction turnover processes.
  • NETA, NICET, OSHA 30, PMP, PE, or electrical journeyman/master license preferred.
  • Experience with Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar project documentation platforms.
