Electrical Project Manager - Houston, TX

Job Overview

As a Project Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

1. Manage the process to deliver the initial fee
2. Enforce project Safety Plans
3. Plan and manage staffing needs during preconstruction and construction phases
4. Recommend staffing changes, training, and recognition to the Project Executive
5. Coordinate resource allocation including materials, equipment, and personnel
6. Address change requests promptly and accurately
7. Ensure timely procurement of necessary items
8. Define and oversee subcontractor and supplier scopes of work
9. Conduct monthly PFR/JCR meetings with the Project Executive
10. Maintain and update the project schedule with the Superintendent
11. Participate in Owner contract negotiations
12. Develop GMP proposals during preconstruction
13. Manage subcontract buyout process and negotiations
14. Oversee Owner deliverables during project phases
15. Maintain the Quality Program
16. Hold regular meetings to resolve cost and schedule issues
17. Provide monthly Owner’s Status Reports
18. Conduct planning, progress, and closeout meetings
19. Assist in turnover and commissioning of systems
20. Develop and mentor project team members
21. Administer performance appraisals for direct reports

Requirements

• Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• At least ten years of experience in commercial construction, design, finance, and management
• Minimum of two years working for a commercial electrical contractor
• Experience with large Hospital projects
• Strong understanding of industry practices and standards
• Proficiency in relevant software and technical skills
• Knowledge of safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and construction documents
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
