Prism Electric, Inc. in Garland, TX, seeks a Medium Voltage Service Account Manager to lead MV design, installation and maintenance projects (1–35 kV).

You will review protection coordination, short-circuit studies, arc flash assessments and coordinate capital planning, reliability improvement, and customer relationships. Ideal candidates bring strong MV engineering leadership, budgeting and estimation skills, and a proven ability to manage teams of engineers and technicians while ensuring NFPA

Qualifications

• Experience in MV design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of 1–35 kV systems.
• Ability to review protection coordination studies, short-circuit analyses and arc flash assessments.
• Strong knowledge of IEEE C57/C37, ANSI/NEMA, NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and NESC standards.
• Proven people management and team development skills.
• Experience in budgeting, labor tracking, scheduling, and estimating.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of MV systems (1–35 kV).
• Review and approve single-line diagrams, protection coordination studies, short-circuit analyses, and arc flash assessments.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for MV equipment failures and outages.
• Develop and manage asset health programs including condition-based monitoring and relay calibration schedules.
• Drive capital planning for MV asset renewal based on age and reliability data.
• Analyze system reliability metrics (SAIDI, SAIFI, MAIFI) and implement corrective strategies.
• Recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop a team of MV engineers and technicians.
• Sales, estimating, and production management of jobs meeting margin standards.
• Build and maintain long-term customer relationships and pursue new business development.
• Enforce NFPA 70E / OSHA compliance for all energized MV work and related PPE/LOTO procedures.
• Ensure MV systems and documentation comply with regulations and interconnection agreements.
• Maintain up-to-date as-built drawings, equipment records, test reports, and maintenance logs.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve single-line diagrams, protection coordination studies, short-circuit analyses, and arc flash assessments
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for MV equipment failures, outages, and power quality issues
• Develop and manage long-term asset health programs including condition-based monitoring and relay calibration schedules
• Drive capital planning for MV asset renewal based on age, condition assessments, and reliability data
• Analyze system reliability metrics (SAIDI, SAIFI, MAIFI) and implement corrective strategies to reduce unplanned outages
• Recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop a team of MV engineers, technicians, and field electricians
• Sales, estimating, and production management of jobs that meet or exceed margin standards
• Build and maintain long-term customer relationships while pursuing new business development
• Enforce NFPA 70E / OSHA compliance for all energized MV work, including arc flash PPE and LOTO procedures
• Ensure MV systems and documentation remain compliant with applicable regulations, utility interconnection agreements, and internal safety policies
• Maintain up to date as-built drawings, equipment records, test reports, and maintenance logs

Requirements

• Protection coordination and relay settings (SEL, GE, ABB platforms)
• Short-circuit, load flow, and arc flash studies (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower)
• Transformer specification, testing, and maintenance (oil analysis, sweep frequency response)
• Knowledge of IEEE C57/C37, ANSI/NEMA, NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and NESC standards
• Proficiency in reading single-line diagrams, protection schematics, and equipment drawings
• Proven people management, performance management, and team development skills
• Strong budgeting, labor tracking, scheduling, and estimating abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail
• Texas Journeyman License preferred
