Job summary

gpac is actively seeking an Electrical Project Manager / Estimator for a local electrical contractor. The role combines estimating with full project management, overseeing pre-construction through completion and ensuring budget, schedule, and safety standards are met.

You will develop detailed estimates, perform take-offs, review specifications, and collaborate with clients, vendors, and field teams to drive profitable, on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project management with an electrical contractor.
  • Proven track record managing commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, or Conest.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and project scheduling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Stable work history.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to develop accurate bids.
  • Conduct take-offs and maintain estimate documentation, including supplier pricing and historical cost data.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs to assess project conditions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless transition from estimating to execution.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Oversee electrical projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor job progress and provide leadership to field personnel.
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges to maintain efficiency and profitability.

Gpac is a national executive search firm specializing in recruitment for the electrical construction industry. We have been retained by a local electrical contractor in the area to find an Electrical Project Manager / Estimator to join their team.
