Krech Ojard & Associates, Inc. in Duluth, MN is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to develop a diverse portfolio of electrical engineering projects focusing on design, construction, and maintenance of complex electrical systems.

You will lead efforts from concept through completion and mentor junior staff. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering with a PE or eligibility within 1 year and 5+ years of electrical engineering and design experience.

Qualifications

• PE licensure or eligible within 1 year.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering and design experience.
• Knowledge of CAD development and drawing package creation.
• Strong communication with Krech Ojard staff, partners, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform sizing calculations for MCCs, lighting, circuit breakers, motors, transformers, wiring, switchgear, and grounding.
• Apply NEC, IEEE standards, and insurers' requirements to electrical designs for industrial/commercial facilities.
• Develop detailed specifications for electrical distribution equipment, MCCs, drives, low voltage devices, instrumentation, lighting, and monitoring equipment.
• Design power distribution and grounding systems up to 15 kV.
• Develop motor and process control documents including loop and motor drawings.
• Analyze data, prepare reports, and present proposals to staff and clients.
• Mentor and oversee junior engineers and technicians; perform QA/QC reviews during design.
• Collaborate with clients to develop project options and provide engineering guidance.

About The Role

Our Duluth Team is currently looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager that will develop a diverse portfolio of electrical engineering projects with a focus on the design, construction, and maintenance of complex electrical systems. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and expertise in the field of electrical engineering to provide solutions to a diverse clientele that includes multinational industry leaders. Your day to day will include:

• Performing calculations related to the sizing and installation of electrical equipment including: MCC’s, lighting, circuit breakers, motors, transformers, wiring systems, switchgear, and grounding systems
• Utilizing the National Electrical Code, IEEE standards, and requirements of insurers in the development of electrical designs at industrial and commercial facilities
• Developing detailed equipment specifications for electrical distribution equipment, MCC’s, Drives, low voltage field devices, instrumentation, lighting, circuit protection, and power monitoring equipment
• Designing power distribution and grounding systems up to 15kV
• Developing motor and process control documents including loop and motor elementary drawings
• Analyzing data, preparing reports, and delivering presentations on proposed and ongoing projects to internal staff and clients
• Mentoring and overseeing junior engineers and technicians
• Performing QA/QC reviews throughout the design development process
• Working directly with clients to develop project options and alternatives, provide engineering guidance for project planning and development, field investigations, and critical issues

About You

• BS in Electrical Engineering with a Professional Engineering License (PE) or eligible for testing within 1 year
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and design
• Knowledge and application of the principles and practices of CAD development and creation of drawing packages at various stages of design development
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with Krech Ojard staff, individuals from other organizations, and client representatives

Additional Skills & Capabilities

• Experience performing power coordination and arc flash studies and develop single line drawings using SKM
• Experience with power distribution design up to 230kV
• Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC and HMI programming
• Experience developing design packages, P&IDs, and alternatives from concept to issued for construction using AutoCAD Electrical or Revit software packages
• Demonstrated knowledge of project lifecycle and ability to manage complex engineering and multidiscipline projects in the context of electrical design inputs and information requirements
