Electrical Project Manager – Data Center Project

Location: New Albany, OH
Schedule: Full-time, onsite

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the electrical systems scope of a large-scale data center project in New Albany, Ohio. This role is ideal for a project management professional with a strong background in power generation, electrical Balance of Plant (BOP), and complex infrastructure projects.

The Electrical Project Manager will oversee project execution from planning and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout. This position will work closely with clients, subcontractors, vendors, internal teams, and multidisciplinary project stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This is an immediate 6+ month contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on performance, project needs, and mutual fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management and delivery of the electrical scope for a major data center project
  
• Plan, organize, and manage project activities to meet schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations
  
• Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
  
• Manage electrical Balance of Plant activities and coordinate interfaces with other project disciplines
  
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field contractors, and project personnel
  
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource plans
  
• Monitor project progress, costs, risks, quality, and schedule performance
  
• Identify delays, issues, and deviations and implement effective corrective actions
  
• Coordinate procurement of electrical equipment, materials, and services
  
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve the best combination of price, quality, reliability, and schedule
  
• Ensure project work complies with applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  
• Lead regular project meetings and one-on-one meetings to monitor progress and address challenges
  
• Provide direction, coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to team members
  
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and keep stakeholders informed of project status
  
• Understand and interpret client requirements and elevate contract deviations, variations, and commercial risks
  
• Negotiate project schedules, costs, and deliverables with clients as needed
  
• Track project costs against approved budgets and contractual revenue milestones
  
• Prepare regular progress reports for project leadership, highlighting risks, delays, and recovery plans
  
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, finance, safety, quality, and other cross-functional teams
  
• Support continuous improvement and ensure accountability for project and team performance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
  
• Minimum of 2 years of experience managing large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects
  
• Demonstrated experience supporting or managing power generation projects
  
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and electrical Balance of Plant
  
• Experience coordinating electrical installation, testing, commissioning, subcontractors, and vendors
  
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, resource planning, budget management, and risk mitigation
  
• Understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project
  
• Ability to work onsite in New Albany, OH
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain effective in a fast-paced project environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on data center projects
  
• Experience with large-scale power generation systems or engine-generator projects
  
• Experience with electrical construction, commissioning, or infrastructure delivery
  
• Project management certification or other formal project management qualification
  
• Familiarity with contract law, commercial terms, change orders, and project variations
  
• Experience managing client relationships and negotiating project schedules and costs
