An electrical construction company is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to manage a portfolio of complex projects spanning multiple sectors and lines of business. This role provides on-site leadership for project teams, builds and motivates team members to meet project goals, and manages all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
The Electrical Project Manager oversees construction cost to complete and project financial projections, accurately projecting costs by phase code relating to materials and remaining labor hours. This includes identifying areas of scope creep to mitigate risk, assembling design errors and project change orders, and communicating these to the project team, including negotiating and selling change orders to protect project margin.
The role prepares estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project, coordinates with the general superintendent and foreman to review revised labor hours and set completion targets, and procures resources to meet project objectives within planned timeframes. The Electrical Project Manager manages day-to-day project activities and resources, communicating additional requirements and impacts to the Vice President of Construction, and provides status reporting on milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership.
The role acts as an internal quality control check for the project, participates in quality issue resolution, and assists with dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as needed. The Electrical Project Manager understands project specifications for installation, ensures the project team understands requirements, negotiates with vendors and subcontractors, and drafts and submits budget proposals and recommends subsequent budget changes. The role also coaches, mentors, and supervises the project team, monitors staff performance, and completes performance reviews.
