The Position:

The Electrical Project Manager will oversee complex electrical projects across our asphalt and aggregate plants within the Walbec Group. Responsibilities include budgeting, design, project management, and fieldwork if necessary. Lead with a focus on ethics, safety, and compliance.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and ethical work environment.
  • Determine project scope independently and coordinate subcontractors or internal resources.
  • Assist with electrical design and troubleshooting of facility equipment.
  • Create job scopes, secure quotes, and manage bidding processes.
  • Review engineering designs, quotations, and drawings for accuracy, communicating deficiencies as needed.
  • Monitor subcontractor work, manage project timelines, and report progress.
  • Understand electrical codes and specifications to monitor costs and reports.
  • Manage budgets and work quality; perform site inspections and report on progress.
  • Develop standard specifications, start-up procedures, and training materials.
  • Detect and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas.
  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Work under deadlines, adjusting focus as needed.
  • Collaborate on developing predictive maintenance plans.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations is a plus.

  • Projects vary across the local area and state; willingness to travel is required.
The Candidate:
  • 5+ years in electrical management within construction or manufacturing.
  • Training and licensing in electrical fields, with strong knowledge of electrical components.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes in WI, IL, MI.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Relationship-building abilities to gain support and achieve results.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical prints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred; knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, VFD, and PLC is a plus.
Preferred Skills
  • Master Electrician Certification.
  • Four-year Electrical Engineering Degree.
  • Experience in a heavy/highway construction materials organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience preferred.
