Job summary

CPG Sorting Technologies, part of CP Group, is a leading OEM of advanced sorting systems for the waste and recycling industries. The Electrical Project Manager will own and drive complex electrical and controls projects from kickoff through commissioning, coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, FAT, shipment, and closeout.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Five+ years of experience managing industrial automation, electrical systems, or capital-equipment projects.
  • Ability to manage project scope, cost, schedules, risks, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and commercial judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • PMP or similar project-management certification (preferred).
  • Experience with Epicor ERP or a comparable ERP or project-control system (preferred).
  • Technical familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, SCADA, electrical design, and industrial commissioning (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, budgets, and execution plans.
  • Maintain accurate project schedules, action lists, risk registers, forecasts, and Epicor project data.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, FAT, shipment, commissioning, and closeout activities.
  • Serve as the primary electrical project contact for customers, internal stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Manage scope clarifications, customer decisions, change orders, commercial risks, and documented commitments.
  • Identify and elevate cost, schedule, technical, and contractual risks.
  • Coordinate design reviews, programming readiness, procurement requirements, FAT preparation, and startup support.
  • Confirm that project deliverables meet approved standards and requirements.
  • Facilitate the resolution of cross-functional technical issues.
  • Request project resources through appropriate department supervisors.
  • Ensure completion of as-built drawings, software backups, manuals, punch lists, warranty handoffs, and lessons learned.
  • Verify that project financial, scheduling, and closeout information is complete and accurate.
  • Recommend scope, schedule, and commercial changes for approval based on company authority levels.

Role Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a project-management professional who enjoys taking ownership, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering complex electrical and controls projects. The Electrical Project Manager will manage assigned projects from kickoff through commissioning and closeout, with responsibility for scope, cost, schedule, project data, change management, and customer communication.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Five or more years of experience managing industrial automation, electrical systems, or capital-equipment projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, cost, schedules, risks, customers, and cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and commercial judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred
  • PMP or similar project-management certification
  • Experience with Epicor or a comparable ERP or project-control system
  • Technical familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, SCADA, electrical design, and industrial commissioning
  • Experience supporting projects through manufacturing, FAT, field installation, commissioning, and final closeout
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and electronic communications.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
  • Ability to occasionally move throughout the office to attend meetings and collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 10 pounds.

Pay Range
  • $85,000–$1155,000 annually, depending on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
