HJD Capital Electric, a 100% employee-owned contractor, seeks an Electrical Project Manager to plan and supervise diverse projects from start to finish. The role focuses on delivering on time, within budget, and in compliance with codes across electrical, utility, and construction services.

Responsibilities include vendor negotiations, resource planning, schedule management, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and owners.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an electrical project manager.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical procedure, material and project management principles.
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products and Spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with MS Project & BlueBeam software.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A team player with leadership abilities.
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree recommended, but not required.
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Obtain licenses from appropriate authorities to insure all work complies to codes.
  • Determine needed resources manpower, equipment and materials from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor use and material levels to provide timely replenishments as needed.
  • Supervise the work of all staff, sub-contractors etc. and give them guidance when needed.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports as contractually required.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables.
  • Predict resources needed to complete project.
  • Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites.
  • Draft and submit budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Manage costs in order to meet budget.
  • Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts.
  • Manage schedule and activities.
  • Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines.
  • Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.
  • Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors and owners to insure timely invoice payments and collections.

JOB SUMMARY:
