Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead and manage electrical commercial construction and engineering projects from initial planning through completion. This position will work closely with engineering, operations, customers, contractors, electricians, and other project stakeholders to coordinate all aspects of electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical projects from concept/design through installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Develop project scope, budgets, schedules, manpower requirements, and execution plans.
  • Coordinate electrical engineering, design, procurement, construction, and installation activities.
  • Manage subcontractors, electrical contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, material submittals, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate field activities and monitor project progress against established schedules.
  • Track project costs, purchase orders, change orders, invoices, and overall budget performance.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct project meetings and communicate status, issues, schedules, and deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, local/state codes, and applicable industry standards.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, startup, and final project acceptance.
  • Troubleshoot project issues and work with engineering and field teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, schedules, reports, change orders, and closeout documents.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience managing electrical projects, electrical construction, industrial projects, or facility projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, controls, power distribution, and electrical construction practices.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contractors, and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar project/design software is preferred.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments and visit active project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with industrial/manufacturing facilities, plant expansions, capital projects, or electrical infrastructure upgrades.
  • Experience with PLC, MCC, VFD, instrumentation, controls, power distribution, transformers, switchgear, and motor systems.
  • PMP certification or other project management certification.
  • PE license is a plus.
  • Experience managing projects involving 480V/medium-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with electrical estimating, bidding, procurement, and subcontractor management.
