Job description

Build Projects. Lead Teams. Own the Outcome.

PEG Staffing & Recruiting is searching for an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Estimator for a well-established organization in the electrical construction industry.

This position is ideal for someone who understands both the operational and financial sides of electrical construction. You’ll take ownership of projects from the estimating and preconstruction stages through field execution and closeout, working closely with customers, field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and internal leadership.

We’re looking for someone who can keep several priorities moving at once, make sound decisions when challenges arise, and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As an Electrical Project Manager / Estimator, you will:

  • Oversee a portfolio of electrical construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Develop project estimates, budgets, labor projections, material requirements, and pricing for additional work.
  • Track project costs and performance throughout the job lifecycle and adjust plans when necessary.
  • Coordinate purchasing, materials, subcontractors, manpower needs, schedules, and other project resources.
  • Partner with field leadership to keep work progressing efficiently and address issues before they affect project performance.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and other construction documents.
  • Manage project correspondence and documentation, including information requests, contract-related items, billing support, and scope revisions.
  • Maintain accurate financial projections and provide visibility into anticipated project results.
  • Lead meetings and serve as a key point of communication for customers and project stakeholders.
  • Develop productive, long-term customer relationships and recognize opportunities for additional work.
  • Support and coach less-experienced team members.
  • Help maintain strong safety, quality, and operational standards across assigned projects.
What Will Help You Succeed

We’re seeking a construction professional who brings:

  • At least 5 years of electrical project management experience.
  • A successful track record managing commercial and/or industrial electrical construction work.
  • Experience independently overseeing multiple active projects.
  • Strong electrical estimating capabilities and familiarity with takeoffs and job costing.
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, electrical plans, specifications, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Experience managing project budgets, labor costs, forecasts, margins, and overall financial performance.
  • Familiarity with change management, contracts, project documentation, and construction-related negotiations.
  • Confidence using construction project management and estimating technology.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with both office and field teams.
  • Excellent organization, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build lasting professional relationships.

A degree related to construction management, electrical engineering, electrical systems, or a similar discipline is beneficial, although relevant industry experience may be considered in place of formal education. Project management credentials are also a plus.
