Job summary

BE&K Building Group is seeking an Electrical Project Manager for mission-critical environments to lead electrical construction from preconstruction through commissioning, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget.

You will manage client relations, risk, procurement, and quality, with emphasis on data centers, healthcare facilities, and telecom infra, leveraging PM software and NEC/NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5–10+ years of electrical construction project management experience.
• Experience managing mission-critical projects (data centers, healthcare, semiconductor facilities, telecom infrastructure).
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and critical facility operations.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects valued at $10M+.
• Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam).
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, and commissioning requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
• Manage project execution to meet contractual requirements and client expectations.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate procurement activities and long-lead material tracking.
• Ensure adherence to project scope and manage change order processes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, consultants, and contractors.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve project issues while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Develop project budgets and monitor financial performance.
• Review labor productivity and project cost reports.
• Manage billing, cash flow, forecasting, and contract compliance.
• Negotiate subcontractor agreements and vendor contracts.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage systems, UPS, generators, PDUs, busways, grounding, lighting, SCADA/BMS integration.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities to ensure system reliability and uptime requirements.
• Lead project engineers, superintendents, foremen, and field personnel.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Support workforce planning and staffing requirements.
