Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the strategic as well as the day-to-day operations for all construction, project management and project administration activities. It has overall responsibility for maintaining budgets, timelines, and profitability for assigned projects. It assists in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures to achieve established corporate goals and support the corporate mission statement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational oversight in the areas of client management, procedural issues, financial and reporting issues, and workforce planning and analysis.
  • Promote the growth and development of client relationships.
  • Actively manage the workload, professional development, and client development skills of project management staff.
  • Promote positive customer relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Initiate, execute, and document a quality job start‑up meeting for project(s).
  • Manage and maintain Strategic Partner subcontractor and vendor relationships, including verification of timely payment.
  • Perform monthly project reviews with project teams to ensure adherence to schedules, quality of work, safety, administration, and profitability.
  • Analyze available and qualified personnel and make specific project assignments to meet project needs.
  • Regularly participate in meetings and presentations to secure new work.
  • Assist the PMs and Superintendents with resolution of specific issues and requests.
  • Manage customer relations and change order negotiations.
  • Represent meetings, interviews, and networking events.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document project close‑out meetings. Verify project data sheets and photos (with client permission) for all completed projects.
  • Responsible for all financial reporting, tracking and projection of all labor, material, job expense, and changes for each project assigned.
  • Create a project specific schedule of values that will maintain positive cash flow for each project assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of project.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 10 years successful PM experience in electrical construction. Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and managing others.
  • Business development and heavy client interaction experience.

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position.

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Proven people management, process management, and performance management skills.
  • Current and valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job may work inside or outside with possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and weather elements in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces. This job may have exposure to working on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other exposures typical of heavy construction. This job also operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, standing, or stretching.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Move about on the feet regularly. Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • May require travel.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
  • Talk and hear, ability to communicate with others both written and orally and by telephone.
  • Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Possesses good hearing, normal or corrected. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed.
  • Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. Must be on‑call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
  • Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
