Bala Consulting Engineers, based in Wayne, PA, seeks an Electrical Project Engineer to support enterprise-wide electrical design from our Wayne office. Responsibilities include power distribution, fire alarm, lighting systems, and on-site surveys for commercial and data center projects.

Ideal candidates have 7–10 years of experience, PE/EIT preferred, LEED accreditation a plus, and proficiency with Revit. Full-time, in-office role with some remote work options.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of experience designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, and lighting (interior and exterior).
• Knowledge of short circuit, arc flash coordination, interior/exterior lighting design, and photometric calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer size.
• Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm and lighting control systems.
• Perform on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.
• Determine schedules and details required for the project; review with project engineer.
• Attend job meetings as required.
• Ensure flow of information between disciplines.
• Assist in writing of reports and feasibility studies.
• Support developing electrical standards.
• Prepare cost estimates and specifications.

The basic requirements for this position include:

• 7 to 10 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls.


• Knowledge should include familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations.


• Background in design of commercial and data centers strongly preferred.


• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering


• Knowledge of applicable codes including energy conservation.


• PE or EIT certification preferred.


• LEED accreditation preferred.


• Proficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year experience of formal design use.
