Job summary

GFT is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Building and Places Team in Raleigh, NC, Mechanicsburg, PA. The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our office.

At GFT, the electrical team focuses on energy-efficient power systems, lighting, IT networks, security and fire alarm systems, delivering projects on time and within budget while collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in electrical design.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain within two years.
• Familiar with NEC, NFPA codes and energy codes.
• Experience with facility surveys, feasibility studies, design, specs, cost estimating and construction support.
• AutoCAD and BIM experience; electrical power design experience.
• Power studies such as short circuit, coordination, arc flash.
• Security and communication design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical design, inspection and condition assessment for various facilities.
• Prepare electrical design criteria documents, drawings and calculations.
• Construction support including shop drawing review and site surveys.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, utility reps and project teams.
• Deliver projects on time and within client budgets.
• Develop reports and design documents including load calculations and arc flash studies.
