Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support the development and execution of large-scale power delivery and generation projects. The role involves working on medium-voltage distribution, substations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and grid-resiliency initiatives, collaborating with Owners, EPCs, OEMs, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 2–5 years of electrical engineering experience in utility, power generation, transmission, or large infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of medium-voltage systems and utility-grade equipment.
• Experience with switchgear, transformers, protective relaying, distribution systems.
• Familiarity with power system analysis software (ETAP/SKM/PSCAD) preferred.
• Willingness to travel ~15–25% for meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Review and support electrical design packages, diagrams, specs, and construction deliverables.
• Provide engineering support for MV distribution and collector systems (13.8kV & 34.5kV).
• Review switchgear, transformers, grounding, cables, protection schemes, and relay coordination.
• Support power system studies (short-circuit, load flow, arc flash, harmonics, reliability).
• Assist integration of generation resources, energy storage, and interconnection facilities.
• Coordinate activities with consultants, EPCs, OEMs, and project teams.
• Evaluate submittals, vendor docs, specs, and equipment ratings.
• Support BESS design reviews, sizing, and integration efforts.
• Prepare RFIs, technical exhibits, reports, and permits.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input throughout development and execution.
• Support FAT, site inspections, commissioning, and energization planning.
• Ensure deliverables meet safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
