Job summary

The Project Engineer at Kratos Industries, LLC will own the full-life cycle of engineered-to-order electrical equipment projects from intake to closeout, interfacing with customers, utilities, sales, and engineering to ensure compliance with requirements.

This in-house, full-time role based in Arvada, CO requires CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), ERP/MRP experience, and strong written and verbal communication to manage submittals, changes, and closeout documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing engineering technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered.
• Three or more years of experience in project engineering, applications engineering, electrical or mechanical design, or technical project execution within an engineered-to-order environment.
• Experience reviewing customer specifications, purchase orders, quotations, drawings, and other technical contract documents.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, bills of material, equipment layouts, and mechanical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to review and interpret drawings produced using 2D or 3D CAD software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, open items, deadlines, and changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and document-control discipline.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems; SAP experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, or similar CAD platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales during project intake to confirm customer requirements and alignment before engineering execution begins.
• Identify scope gaps, technical risks, deviations, and missing information during intake.
• Identify applicable standards, customer specifications, utility requirements, and project-specific obligations.
• Establish and maintain logs for requests, actions, decisions, and open items.
• Coordinate technical questions with customers, engineers, utilities, sales, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
