Job summary

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer in Freeport, ME, to lead electrical-system design efforts for low- to moderate-complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger, more complex work. You will provide engineering solutions and advice to clients while supporting analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems for buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required
• 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical-system analysis and design, producing detailed designs, specifications, and calculations that meet code requirements and company standards.
• Work with clients to gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build professional relationships.
• Support consulting-project execution through project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Document client design decisions and instructions while monitoring design progress, percent complete, and fee expended.
• Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions.
• Conduct in-process reviews of electrical designs, calculations, and specifications, and implement quality-control processes.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and electrical-engineering best practices, contributing to research, development, and innovation efforts.
• Prioritize safety and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager.
• Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration.
