Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with 2+ years of MEP experience for commercial construction projects in healthcare, education, tech, life sciences, and office markets. You will support project teams, coordinate with designers and owners, and help enforce safety and project execution standards on-site.

The role requires strong knowledge of MEP systems, excellent communication, and an organized, proactive approach to solving problems in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer in MEP for commercial construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.

Job description

Electrical Project Engineer – 2‑5years of MEP experience in commercial construction. The role supports projects in Healthcare, Higher Education, Advanced Technology, Life Sciences and Commercial markets.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction support for MEP systems.
• Participate in and enforce EIG’s Environmental Health and Safety Plan, including weekly safety audits.
• Understand and enforce contracts between EIG, subcontractors, and DPR.
• Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in implementing EIG policies and project execution.
• Organize duties of other engineers, field office coordinator, project accountant, and assigned staff, providing direction and prioritization.
• Participate in trainings and company meetings to support individual and company growth.
• Organize and electronically archive project files for easy access by the project team.
• Prepare, monitor and update project schedules; work with the Superintendent to minimize schedule constraints.
• Prepare and maintain document control records such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as‑built drawings, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs.
• Coordinate and resolve project issues promptly within the team (interfacing with designers, engineers, and owners).
• Maintain detailed knowledge of project scopes with a 100% hands‑on approach.
• Distribute new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses and other project information to all affected parties.
• Prepare agendas, documents, meeting minutes and actions for owner/architect/contractor, subcontractor coordination, safety and staff meetings.
• Monitor testing and inspection records, safety inspection and accident logs, building permit inspections and sign‑offs.

• Strong work ethic with a “can‑do” attitude and passion for construction.

Education & Experience

• 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, preferably within EIG’s core markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
