Job summary

DPR Construction is searching for an Electrical Project Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of MEP experience in commercial construction and will support construction for MEP systems, ensuring compliance with safety and contract requirements.

Electrical Project Engineer – Evergreen Innovation Group

Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with 2‑5 years of MEP experience in commercial construction.

Responsibilities
  • Provide construction support for MEP systems.
  • Apply EIG’s Environmental Health and Safety Plan, including conducting weekly safety audits.
  • Understand and enforce contracts between EIG, subcontractors, and DPR.
  • Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with the implementation of EIG policies and project execution.
  • Organize and direct the duties of other Engineers, the Field Office Coordinator, Project Accountant, and assigned project staff.
  • Participate in trainings and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
  • Organize and electronically archive project files for easy access by the team.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update project schedules; work with the Superintendent to reduce schedule constraints.
  • Maintain document control entities such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as‑built drawings, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs.
  • Coordinate and resolve project issues promptly within the project team, interfacing with Designers, Engineers, and Owners.
  • Apply a fully hands‑on approach and maintain detailed knowledge of assigned project scopes.
  • Distribute new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project information to all affected parties.
  • Prepare agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and action items for Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and staff meetings.
  • Monitor testing and inspection records, safety logs, accident reports, building permit inspections, and sign‑offs.
Qualifications
  • Strong grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Organized, adaptable, and able to adjust to support current project needs.
  • Proven ability to seek out and resolve construction problems and conflicts arising during design and construction.
  • Effective participation in a team environment.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC, Prolog or similar), scheduling software (Primavera or similar), and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or similar).
  • Strong work ethic, a "can‑do" attitude, and passion for construction.
Education and Experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, preferably within EIG’s core markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel to and from the office and assigned job site(s).
