Job summary

Dominion Energy in Kitty Hawk, NC seeks an Associate Project Designer/Project Designer to design and manage electric distribution projects from inception to release. You will work with engineers, planners, and field teams to estimate timelines and costs while ensuring safety and compliance with NESC standards.

This technical role involves preparing drawings with AUD/AutoCAD, coordinating with other utilities, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of directly related experience.
• 2-3+ years directly related experience for Project Designer.
• Successful completion of the Electrical Distribution Designer Training Program or equivalent knowledge.
• Knowledge of distribution design, electricity, and company policies.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication; time management and organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage 50-100 electric distribution projects from inception to project release.
• Communicate policy, requirements, and project schedules to internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare service agreements and detailed drawings using AUD/AutoCAD.
• Coordinate installation/relocation of other utilities.
• Mentor junior colleagues and assist trainee development.
• Identify safety issues and assess hazards to prevent incidents.
