Job summary

Volta, a leader in AI infrastructure, seeks a Procurement Category Manager in Palo Alto to build a resilient supply chain for core electrical infrastructure. You will develop category strategies, establish supplier panels and master agreements, and lead end-to-end procurement processes across multiple projects.

You will collaborate with regional procurement, engineering, design, and finance to align requirements, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery for Volta’s campus deployments.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years in procurement or category management
• Experience in data centers, energy, construction or large infrastructure
• Experience in electrical procurement is a plus
• Track record of master agreements and capacity arrangements
• Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement
• Knowledge of contract terms and standard forms (NEC/JCT/FIDIC)
• Experience with total cost of ownership analyses and ERP tools
• Qualification (CIPS or CPSM) would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Develop category and sourcing strategies to deliver campuses on time
• Manage supplier partnerships and master agreements
• Create and maintain framework agreements and capacity commitments
• Ensure clear call-off routes, pricing, and contacts for sites
• Oversee end-to-end procurement processes from market engagement to award
• Collaborate with engineering and finance to define requirements
• Negotiate terms, warranties, milestones and service levels
• Escalate supplier issues and drive rapid resolution
• Plan regular business reviews with key suppliers
• Identify and manage supply chain risks and dual-sourcing options
• Report spend, savings, and supplier performance to leadership
