Job summary

Clayco SEI seeks an Electrical Estimator to drive accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in heavy industrial and mission critical projects. You will interact with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and field personnel to define scopes and pricing.

Responsibilities include reviewing documents, performing quantity surveys, preparing subcontract scopes, and supporting bid processes with modern estimating tools. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3+ years’ construction experience with 1+ years estimating electrical systems.
• Experience bidding with heavy/advanced manufacturing, industrial, or mission critical markets.
• Working knowledge of NEC and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-bid meetings and analyze site conditions for scope development.
• Review drawings, specs, schedules to determine material, equipment, and labor needs.
• Prepare scopes of work for subcontracts and coordinate electrical scopes with other trades.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and pricing documents development.
• Perform quantity surveys of electrical systems and apply labor rates for estimates.
• Evaluate proposals for conformance and document assumptions and exclusions.
• Assist in preparation of bids and budgeting including self-performed work.
• Support project management tasks including budgeting, scheduling, change orders, and vendor selection.
• Coordinate with teams to evaluate productivity and forecast cost/schedule data.
• Update historical cost databases with completed designs and past projects.
