Job summary

City of Lakeland seeks an experienced electric utility engineer to perform high‑level design, operation, and construction tasks for power facilities. You will lead project teams, direct cross‑disciplinary work, and provide technical decisions under supervision.

The role supports major facility projects, with senior/PM responsibilities and strong independence in planning work and making decisions. PE is preferred and NERC/FMPP coordination is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering.
• Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 3+ years of electric utility engineering experience; 6 years for IV level.

Responsibilities

• Prepare scope of work and project management plans.
• Oversee design, construction, and quality control for projects.
• Lead engineers/technicians on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and utility stakeholders.
• Support Lakeland Electric compliance with NERC and FMPP requirements.
