Job summary

Siemens is hiring an Electrical Power Laboratory Technician, First Shift, onsite in Tucker, GA. You will perform standardized electrical tests on circuit breakers, controls, and distribution equipment, and produce detailed test reports under the Laboratory Team Lead.

Qualifications include an AAS in Electrical/Engineering or related experience, 2+ years with oscilloscopes and multi-meters, knowledge of UL/CSA/IEC standards, and up to 10% domestic travel.

Qualifications

• 2-year AAS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Engineering field of study or equivalent years of experience.
• 2+ years of experience with the following: Usage of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters
• Working knowledgeable of National or International Standards (e.g., UL, CSA, IEC) when required by test requirements
• Microsoft Office Suite
• PC skills, to include basic programming skills
• Exercising strong at multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
• Ability to 10% travel domestically as needed
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Performing standardized electrical testing—including temperature, short circuit, mechanical endurance, electrical endurance, and environmental—per UL, CSA, and other certification bodies under the direction of the Laboratory Team Lead.
• Selecting, operating, and troubleshooting test equipment/software as required; designing and testing sequences of test programs; creating and updating test instructions and procedures; and documenting the entire testing process with accurate and detailed reports on product performance (e.g., circuit breakers, control devices, distribution equipment).
• Analyzing test sequences for potential improvements and implementing or initiating required corrective measures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Conducting training, cross-training, and direction of personnel in related job functions as requested by management, ensuring knowledge transfer and alignment to established processes.
• Maintaining and upgrading test equipment, ensuring effective implementation of applicable quality system processes, and upholding a safe and clean work environment.
• Traveling within the United States to perform product testing in external laboratories as needed, and completing other assignments as directed by the Laboratory Team Lead.
