Job summary

RoyOMartin is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Technician to serve as the electrical SME across departments, designing, coordinating, and commissioning projects while mentoring plant electricians.

You will maintain electrical drawings, manage capital projects, and stay current with the latest technologies through vendor collaboration, all within a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Experience with industrial electrical systems and safety standards.
• Proven ability to analyze and design electrical controls.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates commitment to Safety "IBiZ NOW" and compliance.
• Maintains AOP, EDS, and firmware files for electrical systems.
• Acts as electrical SME across departments and mill.
• Develops electrical project schedules and budgets.
• Maintains RoyOMartin specifications and standards.
• Collaborates with electrical team to create new PMs.
• Analyzes and troubleshoots electrical control systems.
• Designs, coordinates, and commissions electrical projects.
• Mentors and provides technical training to plant electricians.
• Keeps electrical drawings and documentation up to date.
• Works with vendors to stay current on technologies.
• Manages capital electrical projects and contractors.
• Maintains arc flash studies and related documentation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a personal commitment to Safety “IBiZ NOW”
• Maintains Rockwell AOP, EDS & Firmware Files
• Serves as an electrical SME resource to all departments in the mill
• Develops electrical project schedules and budgets
• Maintains RoyOMartin specifications
• Works with electrical department to create new equipment PMs
• Analyze and troubleshoot electrical control system
• Designs, coordinates, and commissions electrical projects
• Mentors, trains and provides technical assistance to plant electricians
• Maintains electrical drawings and documentation
• Works with vendors to stay current on the latest technologies
• Manage capital electrical projects and contractors
• Maintains plant arc flash studies and documentation

Job Experience

Required skills, experience, and/or education

• AC and DC power and control circuits
• Low Voltage motor control circuits.
• 3-phase 15KV and 480V switchgear
• Allen-Bradley programmable logic controls (PLCs) and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
• Allen Bradley Servos and Servo Drives
• NFPA70E arc flash requirements
• AutoCAD
• Short circuit studies
• Protective device coordination
• Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
• PLC Networking and switches
• Experience with HMI Programming
• Experience with Process Instrumentation ex. PTs, TTs and FTs

Desired skills, experience, and/or education

• 5 years of experience working in an industrial environment
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology
• QlikView and Maximo
