Job summary

Big-D Mission Critical seeks an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical scope on complex data center projects from preconstruction to turnover. You will partner with owners, engineers, and field teams to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget goals are met.

Based in Salt Lake City, Reno, or travel as needed, you will drive procurement, commissioning, and closeout activities with a focus on mission-critical reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of mechanical construction project management experience.
• 3+ years of experience supporting mission-critical or data center construction projects.
• Strong understanding of large-scale HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and vendors.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects exceeding $50M in construction value.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Lead all electrical scope execution on hyperscale and enterprise data center projects.
• Manage electrical budgets, schedules, procurement activities, and forecasting efforts.
• Coordinate electrical construction activities with project teams, field operations, design consultants, and trade partners.
• Monitor progress against milestones and proactively identify project risks and mitigation strategies.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers throughout project execution.
• Provide regular updates to project leadership regarding schedule, cost, procurement, and commissioning status.
• Oversee installation and coordination of medium-voltage utility service, substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, PDUs, busway, and more.
• Ensure installations meet project specifications, code requirements, and owner standards.
• Coordinate electrical activities with mechanical, structural, civil, and commissioning teams.
• Support startup, pre-functional testing, and functional testing activities.
• Partner with commissioning agents and owners during IST.
• Manage resolution of electrical commissioning deficiencies and punch lists.
• Ensure completion of startup documentation, turnover packages, and O&M manuals.
