Job summary

Interfor is seeking an Electrical Controls and PLC Supervisor to lead the mill's electrical and automation systems in Bay Springs, MS. You will troubleshoot, develop PLC logic, modernize legacy equipment, and guide a team of five electricians.

You will collaborate with maintenance, operations, and planning teams to improve machine-centre performance and ensure safety and efficiency in all projects.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC and industrial control experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC-5 or newer.
• Ability to lead a team of electricians.
• Strong problem-solving and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Controls leadership: Provide hands-on PLC, HMI, controls, and automation programming and troubleshooting support across the mill.
• System modernization: Assess, integrate, and upgrade legacy control systems to improve reliability and performance.
• Team coordination: Lead, mentor, and help prioritize the day-to-day work of five electricians, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Project support: Write logic and design, build, and implement control systems from the ground up for mill improvement and capital projects.
• Cross-functional partnership: Work closely with maintenance, operations, and planning teams to resolve equipment issues, manage electrical work through EAM, and improve machine-centre performance.

What You’ll Do

What You Offer

• Technical expertise: Strong hands-on experience with PLCs and industrial controls, including the ability to troubleshoot, write logic, and build control systems from scratch.
• Platform knowledge: Experience with Allen-Bradley systems is required; exposure to Siemens controls, Toshiba drives, and legacy PLC-5 systems is an asset.
• Electrical background: Comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems, variable frequency drives, AC/DC motors, motor controls, and instrumentation.
• Leadership capability: Demonstrated technical lead or leadership experience.
• Work style: Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with availability for occasional weekend and project-related work in a primarily Monday-to-Friday schedule.
