Job summary

The Boring Company is seeking an Electrical Control Panel Builder to assemble and wire control panels powering our tunnel boring machines and equipment in Bastrop, TX. You will translate engineering designs into reliable electrical enclosures, wiring, and panel layouts for high-performance machinery.

Responsibilities include wiring, testing, and troubleshooting with engineers, using hand and power tools, and ensuring quality through documentation and adherence to specifications.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience assembling, wiring, or testing industrial electrical control panels or similar electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of materials.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, crimpers, wire strippers, torque tools, and digital multimeters.
• Understanding of basic electrical principles, wire sizing, grounding, and electrical component identification.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire industrial electrical control panels, junction boxes, and enclosures according to electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials
• Install and terminate components including circuit breakers, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, power supplies, PLC hardware, variable frequency drives, and network devices
• Perform point-to-point wiring, cable routing, labeling, crimping, soldering, and torque verification while maintaining clean and organized panel layouts
• Inspect and test completed panels using electrical test equipment to identify wiring errors, continuity issues, shorts, and component defects
• Work directly with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot builds, document discrepancies, and implement design or production changes
