Overview
6 am to 2:30 pm
Position Summary: Performs repetitive electro mechanical assembly and complex electro mechanical assembly, involving sensitive or precise dexterous movements to maintain pace and quality of assembly work.
Responsibilities
- Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
- Receives components or items for assembly and/or test in programmed sequence.
- Assembles or tests electrical components by means of sensitive hand and equipment coordination.
- Will assemble all variations of in-house standard products.
- Follows clear assembly/test instructions, e.g. code, NEC and UL codes/standards.
- Uses simple hand or power tools along with complex jigs and fixtures.
- Enter work hours in ERP system (Currently SAP).
- Drives continuous improvement process and conducts daily housekeeping/5S audits to ensure continuous improvement activities.
- Maintains equipment and area in an orderly and safe condition.
- Contributes to division results and performance.
- Takes care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.
Position Requirements
Formal Education Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, ladder diagrams, and point to point drawings.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
- Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
- Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
- May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
- May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
- Work surfaces may include concrete.
- Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
