Job summary

VIAVI Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Electrical & Optical Engineering Intern to contribute to the design, development, and testing of advanced optical and electrical systems in a dynamic R&D environment.

You will assist in circuit design, simulations, and lab experiments, and support assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of modules. Collaborate with senior engineers while developing procedures and documenting results for critical projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Strong foundational understanding of electrical circuit theory, electromagnetism, and optics.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, optical spectrum analyzers, and power meters.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, simulation, and analysis of electrical circuits and optical components.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, collect data, and perform preliminary analysis on prototypes and existing systems.
• Support the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and optical modules and sub-assemblies.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of test procedures and fixtures.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on project progress.
• Document experimental results, procedures, and findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on various projects, learning from their expertise.
