VIAVI Solutions is seeking a motivated Electrical & Optical Engineering Intern to contribute to the design, development, and testing of advanced optical and electrical systems in a dynamic R&D environment.

The internship offers hands-on experience across multiple product lines, with opportunities to work on circuit and optical components, perform experiments, document results, and learn from senior engineers in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Strong foundation in circuits, electromagnetism and optics.
• Experience with lab equipment and basic programming is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, simulation, and analysis of electrical circuits and optical components.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, collect data, and perform preliminary analysis on prototypes and existing systems.
• Support the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and optical modules and sub-assemblies.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of test procedures and fixtures.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on project progress.
• Document experimental results, procedures, and findings clearly.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on various projects and learn from their expertise.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, components and methodologies relevant to optical and electrical engineering.
