Job summary

Georgia-Pacific at the Green Bay Packerland facility is seeking an Electrical Mechanical Technician for a 36-hour weekend shift (Friday through Sunday) in Maintenance. The role requires skilled preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems operating up to 480V 3-phase power.
  • Diagnose and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment used in converting, packaging, conveying, and palletizing operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, motor starters, drives, hard-wired control circuits, CAT III safety circuits, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Use ladder logic software, electrical schematics, and testing equipment to safely identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Repair and replace mechanical components, including motors, bearings, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and belt drives.
  • Apply precision maintenance techniques and use hand tools to support equipment reliability.
  • Complete planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities as required.
  • Follow all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines while actively supporting site safety initiatives.

Your Job

Georgia-Pacific's Green Bay, Packerland facility is searching for an Electrical Mechanical Technician to work a flexible 36-hour weekend shift, Friday through Sunday, in our Maintenance department. This is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting web processing equipment, and precision maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes. The successful applicant will support Green Bay Packerland’s maintenance efforts that align with the facility's vision and strategies.

Our Team: The Packerland team is a close-knit group of manufacturing employees that works as one team, striving to achieve our vision of safely delivering high-quality products on time and at a competitive cost. This position creates value for the site by supporting our operations team, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring our PBM philosophy is reflected in daily maintenance activities.

Shift: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 6:30AM – 6:30PM

What You Will Do
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems operating up to 480V 3-phase power.

  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels and follow complex written instructions.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Provide vacation coverage for Shift Maintenance personnel on Friday through Sunday as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of accountability and self-direction while working independently
Who You Are
  • Electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
  • Familiarity with electrical circuits, PLCs, AC/DC variable frequency drives, and servo drive controls
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Two (2) year technical degree in electro-mechanical technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field; or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in the paper, pulp, converting, or packaging industries
  • Knowledge of precision maintenance practices
  • Welding and/or rigging certification or related experience
  • Experience operating or maintaining machining equipment
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
